Smoked Pork Shoulder

I was totally going to live blog the exciting process of smoking a pork shoulder on a big ole gas grill, but WordPress wanted all these updates.  So…

Anyway, I had this idea earlier in the week to smoke some pork.  And I went to the store and bought the pork.  Then I was committed to the project, but as the days went on, I wanted to do it less and less.  So I kept Googling until I found the method that involved the least amount of effort and agreed to get up early-ish and get this party started.

Well, I am happy to say that I was quickly rewarded by the smell of smoking hickory chips and I don’t even care that much how the pork comes out.  My kitchen smells like a camp fire and its clear and bright outside with temps hovering just under the 60 mark.  Its like camping without all that packing and tenting nonsense.
