Sweet & Sour Chicken


Sweet & Sour Chicken


  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 4 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger szechuan sea salt or garlic salt, I suppose
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/3 cup canola oil


  • Whisk sugar, ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce and sea salt until smooth. Set aside.
  • Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes. Season with salt and pepper. Dip chicken in cornstarch and coat all the way and then into eggs. Heat oil in large skillet. Cook chicken until browned. Place in baking dish.
  • Give sauce another whisk and then pour sauce over chicken and make sure chicken is coated on all sides. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, turning half-way.
