A Basic Loaf Of Bread

I've tried bread a few times. It never worked. This recipe worked. For real. I made it twice in the last 4 days and both loaves are GONE!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ⅛ cups water

Instructions

  • Heat water in microwave for 30 seconds. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Mix everything together. Add a little more flour if dough sticks to the bowl or your fingers.
  • Knead dough for 5 minutes with stand mixer dough hook attachment. Pull dough from bowl, reform ball, put back in and knead 5 more minutes.
  • Cover and let rise at room temperature until doubled in size – about 90 minutes.
  • Punch down, re-cover and let dough rise for another 90 minutes.
  • Shape dough into a loaf shape and put on a piece of parchment paper; let rise for another hour or so.
  • Bake loaf on preheated stones in oven (I used the grill) at 375˚F for 40-45 minutes..
