French toast with pear & ricotta
Steps
- In a shallow bowl, lightly beat egg. Add 1 slice of bread to bowl and soak thoroughly in egg mixture.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
- Add soaked bread to pan, and pour any remaining egg mixture in to pan. Cook each side for 30 seconds, or until lightly browned.
- Remove from pan and place on serving plate. Spread ricotta over bread and top with pear.
- Serve sprinkled with nutmeg (optional).
- TIP: If you have sweets to spare, you can drizzle honey or maple syrup over the top.
